Letters from the Houseguests

  • "Like stars, specific souls were touched and assembled with more weight than others. Those heavy massed souls, bend the fabric of space time around us." This book is heavy and pulls you in like gravity. From the moment you open Pistol Circus, it captures your mind, heart and soul - keeping you turning pages, wanting more. It delves deep into tragedy, war, life and love through a Poet's mind.

  • I struggle with alcohol and this literally hit the fucking nail, I feel every single bit of this like it's a knife twisting in my guts. Thanks brother, your way with words is a blessing.

    — Anonymous 1/1/2026

  • Thanks, Shaun, Poet Laureate of the GWOT Generation. If you're ever in Stone Mountain, give a neighbor a holler.

    — Shephard 12/30/2025

  • Your book is one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. I look forward to passing it down to my son.

    — Taylor O. 12/30/2025

  • You put pen to paper! And now it’s in the wild..forward deployed …back to where it was born. Been reading PC at the TOC during op’s…

  • I mean it when I say "a pull" or "a draw" if I peak at the next piece of work I finish it, then tell myself absorb, wait one then I glance at the next piece and bam I'm drawn through another one, thinking "damn, he really did fucking nail the flow" nevermind how good the work itself is but the way in which it moves. Unreal.

  • PISTOL CIRCUS is the best book I've purchased in my life. As I read the prophetic words, I can smell and taste the memories. Some good. Most bad. It's a reminder of how far I've come. And that I am still here. Breathing.

    — Johnny S. 1/12/2026

  • I'm not a huge poetry guy. But I really like this. Makes into my saddle bags everyday. Perfect for adding ambiance to winter meadows filled with cattle.

    — Joe O. 12/31/2025

  • I think what makes the book so unique, is only those who walked the path of a warriors life, as we have, will possess the ability to truly understand the scripture written. It's like a hidden or encrypted codex of sort. I like reading some of it out to my girl and explaining it to her and relating to some of my experiences. Keep trucking, brother.

    — Shane M. 1/13/2026

  • Powerful words, I feel dirty reading it, like I'm looking at your soul naked or something. Thats fucking art!

    — Brian S. 1/15/2026

  • I just got my copy of Pistol Circus today and it’s incredible! My son was home sick and I was reading the first few pages and a number of times I had to stop because as I read, I could feel and smell some of those places again and I lost my breath - so thank you for that.

    — Matt F. 1/21/2026

  • I’ve never been someone who reaches for poetry, but from the moment I opened Pistol Circus, I was completely pulled in. There’s a heaviness to these pages, the kind that comes from lived experience, not imagination. Holding this book honestly feels like holding history, something meant to be remembered long after its time.
